August is one of our favourite times on the farm.
The fields are busy as we get ready for our second cut of hay, our chickens have grown, and the gardens are producing. It’s one of the busiest times of the year, but it’s also one of the most rewarding.
Between farm chores, we’ve enjoyed cheering on our grandson and daughters at the ball diamond, spending time together as a family, and taking in some of the beautiful summer sunsets and skies. It’s these moments that remind us why we love life on the farm.
Fresh Beets Are Here!
Fresh, locally grown beets are now available for $2.50 per lb.
Because we harvest our beets as they’re ordered, we ask that you pre-order so we can pick them fresh from the field just for you. Whether you’re roasting, pickling, or adding them to your favourite recipes, fresh beets are a delicious taste of summer.
Our Chicken Freezer Is Full!
If you’ve been waiting to stock up, now is the perfect time!
We currently have:
- Whole Chickens
- Boneless Skinless Breasts
- Wings
- Drumsticks
- Thighs
- Ground Chicken
Our freezer is fully stocked, but some cuts are more popular than others, so be sure to order early.

Don’t Forget the Wheatgrass!
Our field-grown wheatgrass is available year-round as frozen juice cubes and powdered wheatgrass. Grown outdoors in healthy soil and harvested at its peak, it’s an easy way to add a little green to your day.

What’s Coming Up at the Farm
As summer continues, we’re looking forward to our second cut of hay, harvesting more fresh produce, and watching those pumpkins grow. Before long, we’ll also be getting ready for Thanksgiving turkey season—one of our favourite times of the year!
