As a family-owned farm in Southwestern Ontario, we are delighted to have you here. Allow us to introduce ourselves – we are Kim and Charlene, the K&C behind KC Acres. In 1997, we embarked on a journey to cultivate our family farm, passing down the values of hard work and love for nature to our daughters, Angelina and Shawna.
Over the past 26 years, we have dedicated ourselves to growing and producing top-quality products that promote overall health and vitality, not only for our families but also for yours.
At KC Acres, we embrace a diverse range of farming practices. Our farm is home to Belgian horses, free-range chickens, and turkeys, and we cultivate horse and rabbit hay, along with our cherished wheatgrass.
The Wheatgrass Story:
Wheatgrass holds a special place in our hearts. Our journey with wheatgrass began when my dad was diagnosed with cancer, followed by another type of cancer a few years later. In search of complementary approaches to Western medicine, my mom discovered the wonders of wheatgrass. Starting as consumers, we eventually decided to grow wheatgrass ourselves. While dad began with trays, he later switched to growing barley grass due to mold issues in hydroponics. He is now in remission.
The awe-inspiring cancer-preventing and fighting benefits of wheatgrass for humans soon extended to our animals as well. A sick horse in foal became a turning point. Unable to handle the trip to Guelph, we took a chance with wheatgrass. The mare consumed four boxes a day and made a remarkable recovery, living for another 10 years.
Witnessing the transformative effects of wheatgrass, we decided to grow our own after Kim was diagnosed with skin cancer on his cheek. Acting swiftly, Kim began wheatgrass consumption, and by the time of his specialist appointment, the cancer was gone. From then on, we made it our mission to have a continuous supply of wheatgrass for personal use, leading us to expand our wheatgrass cultivation on our fertile fields.
Our commitment to wheatgrass and its health benefits has been unwavering. We now grow wheatgrass on a larger scale, utilizing our fields, industrial juicer, and a flash freezer to preserve its vitality. Embracing sustainable practices, we look forward to expanding and sharing our wheatgrass products with a wider community.
